Buz and Ned's Real Barbecue
Buz and Ned's Real Barbecue has been a Richmond, Virginia institution since founder Buz Grossberg opened his first location on Boulevard in 1995, drawing on techniques and recipes learned at barbecue meccas across Texas, Kansas City, Memphis, and the Carolinas. The restaurant gained national fame when pitmaster Grossberg defeated Bobby Flay in a spare rib showdown on Food Network in 2007, and has since drawn celebrity visitors and earned numerous regional and national barbecue awards. After more than 30 years of slow-smoked tradition, Grossberg announced in 2025 that he was seeking a buyer to carry on the legacy.
