Chada Thai in Denver holds the distinction of being the first Thai restaurant in the United States, tracing its origins to 1961 when Bangkok-born Liad 'Lily' Chittivej opened The Chada Room at 408 E. 20th Avenue. Lily introduced Denverites to authentic Thai cuisine decades before it reached other American cities, and family members continued the legacy after her passing. The current restaurant at 2005 E. 17th Avenue carries forward that pioneering heritage as a cherished family-owned establishment.
