Opened in 2007 by chef Tandy Wilson in Nashville's Germantown neighborhood, City House blends Southern ingredients with Italian culinary traditions in a historic brick building. Wilson earned the James Beard Award for Best Chef Southeast in 2016 after nine nominations, and the New York Times named City House among the 22 best pizzas in the US in 2024. The belly ham pizza — made with locally sourced, brined pork belly treated like prosciutto cotto — has been a signature dish since opening.
