Colonial Donuts

Colonial Donuts has been an Oakland institution since 1969, founded on Lakeshore Avenue near Lake Merritt and taken over by a Cambodian immigrant family in the 1980s. Now run by Phing Yamamoto, who left Apple in 2017 to return to the family business, the shop is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and won the East Bay Express Best Donuts Readers' Poll in 2014.
