El Charro Café, founded in 1922 by Monica Flin in Tucson's El Presidio Historic District, is the oldest Mexican restaurant in continuous family operation in the United States. Credited with possibly inventing the chimichanga, El Charro is celebrated for its sun-dried carne seca and has been named one of America's 21 Most Legendary Restaurants by Gourmet Magazine and a Top 50 Restaurant Icon by Nation's Restaurant News.
