Founded in 1997 by the Prado family with the goal of opening the most authentic Mexican restaurant in Idaho, El Gallo Giro was voted number one in the Idaho Statesman's Treasure Valley Taco Bracket. Street tacos are made on two small corn tortillas with house tomatillo sauce, onion, and cilantro, with proteins ranging from adobada and carnitas to cabeza and lengua. Just outside Boise in Garden City, it remains the area's benchmark for traditional Mexican street tacos.
