A beloved Albuquerque institution since 1971, Frontier Restaurant was founded by Larry and Dorothy Rainosek across from the University of New Mexico and has grown to seat over 300 guests across 8,000 square feet adorned with Western art and John Wayne portraits. Famous for its legendary Frontier Sweet Rolls, green chile cheeseburgers, and fresh-made flour tortillas, the restaurant serves roughly 4,000 customers a day and remains a fixture of Route 66 dining culture.
