Galaxie Tacos occupies a 1940s historic gas station on St. Claude Avenue in New Orleans' Bywater neighborhood, with the building designed by renowned industrial designer Walter Teague and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Chef Hank Shackelford, formerly of Cochon Butcher, leads the kitchen with Oaxacan and Mexico City-inspired tacos al pastor cooked on an 800-degree vertical rotisserie, using corn imported directly from Oaxaca for fresh daily tortillas.
