Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken
🏢National Chain
Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken traces its roots to a family chicken shack in tiny Mason, Tennessee, where Napoleon 'Na' Bonner developed a secret spicy fried chicken recipe in the 1950s that became the stuff of local legend. The Memphis flagship, opened downtown in 2001, serves hand-battered, made-to-order spicy fried chicken alongside house-made southern sides and daily-baked pecan and sweet potato pies. GQ Magazine named Gus's one of the top 10 restaurants in the world worth flying to, and the chain won the National Fried Chicken Festival championship.
