Joes Bakery

Joe's Bakery & Coffee Shop in East Austin traces its roots to 1935, when the founding family began baking traditional Mexican pan dulce from their home, with Joe Avila formally establishing the current business in 1962. A four-generation family institution at 2305 E. 7th Street, Joe's is celebrated for its house-made flour tortillas, migas tacos, and twice-fried bacon, and was named an America's Classic by the James Beard Foundation in 2023.
