Kado no Mise
Kado no Mise, translating to "Corner Restaurant," is a Minneapolis Japanese restaurant and bar helmed by chef Shigeyuki Furukawa, who trained in his native Tokyo before bringing Edomae-style sushi and kaiseki dining to the Warehouse District. Chef Furukawa has earned back-to-back James Beard Award semifinalist nominations for Best Chef: Midwest, and the restaurant is widely regarded as one of the finest Japanese dining destinations in the country. The menu changes with the seasons, incorporating local Minnesota produce alongside Japanese ingredients, and the house chawanmushi steamed egg custard has become the restaurant's most beloved dish.
