Katz's Delicatessen
Katz's Delicatessen is a New York City landmark founded in 1888 on the Lower East Side, originally established as Iceland Brothers before the Katz family took over by 1910, making it one of the oldest continuously operating delis in the country. The restaurant is world-famous for its hand-carved pastrami on rye, with the meat cured for up to 30 days without additives — and gained additional cultural immortality as the setting of the iconic "I'll have what she's having" scene from the 1989 film When Harry Met Sally. Zagat ranked Katz's the No. 1 deli in New York City, and the restaurant serves an estimated 15,000 pounds of pastrami every week.
