Khao Tiew is a Thai restaurant that opened in March 2024 in San Francisco's West Portal neighborhood, founded by chef Wipada Rattanapun and front-of-house partner Arkaranit Dusitnitsakul, who previously ran a street food pop-up called Sowl Bowls during the pandemic. The restaurant quickly drew citywide attention as part of what critics called San Francisco's Thai food awakening, earning a review from The Infatuation and praise from the SF Standard. Signature dishes include sous vide duck breast panang curry, beef short rib tallow fried rice with a soy-cured egg yolk, and a classic old-school pad thai.
