Lardo

Lardo was founded by Rick Gencarelli, who launched the concept as a food cart in September 2010 before opening a brick-and-mortar on SE Hawthorne in 2012, building a reputation as Portland's premier artisan sandwich shop with a focus on pork-centric creations. Signature items include the Korean pork shoulder with kimchi and chile mayo, porchetta carved to order, and dirty fries smothered in pork and peppers, alongside a long-running monthly Chefwich charity program that has donated approximately $300,000 to nonprofits. Lardo won Willamette Week's Best Sandwich Shop four times between 2016 and 2022.
