Lewis Barbecue

Lewis Barbecue was founded by pitmaster John Lewis, who grew up in El Paso and honed his craft in Austin before opening his first location in Charleston, SC in June 2016. Known for USDA Prime beef brisket and Texas hot guts sausage smoked over Texas oak in custom-built 22-foot pits, Lewis Barbecue opened its Atlanta location at Ansley Mall in December 2025, featuring the world's first rooftop smokehouse. The restaurant earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand and has been praised by Southern Living, Condé Nast Traveler, and Garden & Gun.
