Lil' Dizzy's Cafe is a New Orleans institution carrying forward three generations of the Baquet family's Creole cooking tradition, a legacy that traces back to the Paul Gross Chicken Coop in the 1940s. Owner Wayne Baquet Sr. opened Lil' Dizzy's in 2005 in the Tremé neighborhood, naming it after his grandson Zachary's trumpet nickname, a nod to Dizzy Gillespie. The cafe is revered for its Creole filé gumbo, fried chicken, and red beans, all prepared from family recipes that have been passed down across generations.
