Milk Bar is a celebrated American bakery chain founded by James Beard Award-winning pastry chef Christina Tosi, who opened the first location in New York's East Village on November 15, 2008, as an offshoot of David Chang's Momofuku restaurants. Known for iconic creations like the Compost Cookie, Cereal Milk soft serve, and Milk Bar Pie, Tosi received the James Beard Rising Star Chef of the Year award in 2012 โ the first pastry chef to earn that honor โ and the Outstanding Pastry Chef award in 2015.
