Founded in 1983 by Binh Nguyen in San Jose, California, Pho Hoa grew from a 400-square-foot shop into the largest pho chain in the United States, with over 70 locations across seven countries including the U.S., Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, and Taiwan. The chain is credited with helping standardize and popularize Southern-style pho internationally while providing a business pathway for Vietnamese refugees pursuing the American Dream.
