Speed Queen Bar-B-Q

Speed Queen Bar-B-Q is a Milwaukee institution founded in 1956 by 19-year-old Betty Gillespie, who brought a family BBQ recipe from Tupelo, Mississippi, starting from a storefront in the city's old hay market. Now run by Giovanni Gillespie and located at 1130 W Walnut St, the family-owned landmark slow-smokes ribs overnight in what is described as one of the largest BBQ pits in the city.
