Square Pizza Co. was founded in late 2016 by Fred Santos and Bruno Lippi, both from Boston's North Shore, at 4508 Cass Street in Pacific Beach, San Diego. The pizzeria specializes in Detroit-style, Sicilian, and thin-crust Boston Beach pies, earning recognition as the best Detroit pizza in California by the Washington Post. A second location opened in San Diego's East Village, expanding the reach of their nationally acclaimed square pies.
