Sushi Den was founded on Christmas Eve 1984 by brothers Toshi and Yasu Kizaki on South Pearl Street in Denver's Wash Park neighborhood, pioneering the sushi scene in Colorado. The restaurant is renowned for flying in fresh fish daily from Fukuoka, Japan, and has been rated by the Zagat Survey as one of the most prestigious Japanese restaurants in the United States. The Kizaki brothers have since expanded their restaurant group to include Izakaya Den, Ototo, and Temaki Den.
