Sweet Republic was founded in 2008 by Helen Yung, a former Citigroup employee who attended Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in Sydney, Australia, opening its first Phoenix-area location with a commitment to all-natural, small-batch ice cream made from Arizona dairy. Shortly after opening, the shop was named one of Bon Appétit's Top 10 Ice Cream shops in the country and featured on Alton Brown's The Best Thing I Ever Ate. The brand has grown to four locations across Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Tempe.
