The Bar-B-Q Shop has been a Midtown Memphis institution since opening in 1987 at 1782 Madison Ave, with roots tracing back to Brady & Lil's in South Memphis. Founded by Frank Vernon, the restaurant was voted #1 Ribs in America by the Food Network and is celebrated for its real-pit barbecue, barbecued spaghetti, and the family's Dancing Pigs Bar-B-Que Sauce line, introduced in 1995.
