The Thurman Cafe
The Thurman Cafe opened in 1942 in Columbus's German Village neighborhood, founded by Nick Suclescy, and has remained in the Suclescy family for four generations. It is nationally renowned for its towering burgers — particularly the 12-ounce Thurman Burger, which stands over eight inches tall — and was featured on the Travel Channel's Man v. Food. The cafe has a long tradition of feeding bodybuilders competing in the Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic held annually in Columbus.
