Turkey and the Wolf opened in 2016 in New Orleans' Irish Channel neighborhood, founded by chef Mason Hereford, and was named the number one Best New Restaurant in America by Bon Appetit in 2017. The counter-service sandwich shop is best known for its fried bologna sandwich, and Hereford's cookbook, Turkey and the Wolf: Flavor Trippin' in New Orleans, became a New York Times bestseller.
