Black Iron Burger originated in New York City's East Village in 2008 and was revitalized in 2013 under a team of Spanish chefs from Seville led by Victor Ortega, who shifted the menu to all-natural, antibiotic-free, hormone-free meats with a Mediterranean-American influence. The restaurant earned the title of No. 1 Best Burger Joint in NYC in the Zagat Survey for both 2017 and 2018 and maintains multiple Manhattan locations including in Midtown and Chelsea.
