Dave's Hot Chicken was founded in 2017 in East Hollywood, Los Angeles, by French Laundry-trained chef Dave Kopushyan and childhood friends who invested just $900 to launch a parking lot pop-up. The chain's signature Nashville-style hot chicken tenders and sliders — available at seven spice levels — fueled explosive growth to New York City and hundreds of other locations nationwide. Celebrity investors including Samuel L. Jackson and Drake backed the brand before its $1 billion acquisition by Roark Capital in 2025.
