Diddy Riese
Diddy Riese was founded in 1983 near the UCLA campus in Westwood, Los Angeles, named after the founder's grandmother and built on the concept of freshly baked cookies at famously low prices. The shop is best known for its made-to-order ice cream sandwiches — introduced in 1995 — which pair customers' choice of freshly baked cookies with Dreyer's premium ice cream flavors. A fiercely beloved family business that has never franchised, Diddy Riese is widely considered one of Los Angeles's most iconic dessert destinations and a rite of passage for UCLA students.
