Dough Joy is an LGBTQ-owned vegan donut shop founded in Seattle in 2021 by Christopher Ballard and Sean Willis, who launched the concept from a food truck in Ballard with no prior baking experience after months of recipe testing. The duo raised over $40,000 on Kickstarter to open their first brick-and-mortar in Capitol Hill, and have since grown to three Seattle locations. All donuts are egg-free, dairy-free, and nut-free, with a gluten-free option also available.
