Jū-Ni opened in San Francisco in February 2016, founded by chef Geoffrey Lee and partner Tan Truong as an intimate 12-seat omakase sushi experience — the name means "twelve" in Japanese. The restaurant earned a Michelin star in 2017 and held it through 2021, with approximately 90 percent of its fish sourced from Tokyo's Toyosu Market, and was recognized with the San Francisco Chronicle Rising Star Chef award in 2016.
