Nash and Proper is a Black-owned Sacramento fried chicken concept founded by Cecil Rhodes and Jake Bombard, who launched as a food truck in 2017 after their Nashville hot chicken sandwich became an instant sellout. After winning the 2019 Downtown Sacramento Partnership's Calling All Dreamers contest, they expanded to brick-and-mortar locations serving Nashville-style hot chicken sandwiches with homestyle sides like slaw and crinkle fries.
