Sandfly Bar-B-Q opened in 2007 on the southeast side of Savannah, founded by the Latture family near the Wormsloe State Historic Site. Chef-owner Keith Latture brought his Memphis upbringing and fine-dining background — including stints at the Ritz-Carlton Miami and Local 11ten — to create what he calls Savannah-style barbecue, smoking meats over pecan and hickory wood with a trio of regional sauces. The restaurant expanded to a second location housed in a historic streamliner diner.
