Tajima Ramen Convoy is the original flagship location of the Tajima brand, opened in 2001 by Osaka-born chef Sam Morikizono on Convoy Street in San Diego's Kearny Mesa district. The restaurant is credited with sparking San Diego's ramen boom and is known for its tonkotsu broth simmered for up to 12 hours, as well as its spicy sesame ramen and izakaya-style small plates. Multiple Tajima locations now operate across San Diego.
