The Escondite opened in summer 2011 at 410 Boyd St in Downtown Los Angeles, on the border of Skid Row and Little Tokyo, co-founded by Erin Carnes and Brian Traynam as a bar and grill combining craft beer, live music, and gourmet burgers. The restaurant is named for the Spanish word for "hideout" and is known for its burgers named after TV shows, fresh-never-frozen beef patties, and a covered outdoor patio with views of the DTLA skyline.
