Born from pop-up roots, Burger Bodega opened its Rice Military location in 2022 and immediately won Houston Press Best Smash Burger for 2024. The double patty is smashed thin for maximum crust, layered with American cheese, grilled onions, housemade pickles, and the bodega sauce on a soft potato bun: simple, precise, and difficult to argue with. The Washington Avenue original remains the flagship experience.
