Dick's Drive-In opened on January 28, 1954, in Seattle's Wallingford neighborhood, founded by Dick Spady, H. Warren Ghormley, and Dr. B.O.A. Thomas as Seattle's first quick-service hamburger restaurant, selling burgers for just 19 cents. The locally owned chain has maintained a deliberately simple menu of burgers, fries, and shakes for over 70 years and now operates ten locations across the Seattle metropolitan area. Dick's was voted 'the most life-changing burger joint in America' by Esquire.com in 2013 and is recognized as the longest continually operating fast-food chain in the Pacific Northwest.
