Frangelli's Bakery is a South Philadelphia institution established in 1947, now operated by owner-baker John Colosi from its corner location at 9th and Ritner. The bakery is famous for its hand-cut, hand-pumped doughnuts — especially the Franolli, a doughnut filled with ricotta cannoli cream and chocolate chips invented in 2012 — which the Huffington Post named among the dozen best donuts in America. Over 500 doughnuts are made fresh on-site daily.
