Founded in 1996 by Maria Coassin, who grew up in Maniago in northern Italy's Friuli Venezia Giulia region, Gelatiamo was Seattle's first authentic gelateria and remains one of the few shops in the country making gelato entirely from scratch. Drawing on over 200 years of her family's baking tradition, Maria produces small daily batches using organic milk and seasonal ingredients, earning recognition from The Infatuation as simply the best gelato in Seattle.
