Ladder 4 Wine Bar opened in February 2022 inside a meticulously restored 1910 Detroit firehouse that brothers James and Patrick Cadariu purchased in 2015, preserving original details including a vintage fireman's pole. Chef Yelinek's seasonally driven menu — featuring dishes like charred leeks with gribiche and trout roe and braised lamb pie — earned the restaurant Detroit Free Press Restaurant of the Year in 2023 and a spot on Bon Appétit's Best New Restaurants of 2023. In 2025, Ladder 4 was named the Resy One To Watch Award recipient as North America's most exciting restaurant.
