The Black Sheep opened in May 2017 in a southwest Las Vegas strip mall, founded by chef Jamie Tran, Andy Hooper, and Jon Schwalb after the closure of DB Brasserie at the Venetian. Chef Tran, a James Beard Award nominated finalist, earned Eater Las Vegas's Chef of the Year and Restaurant of the Year honors in 2017 for her seasonally driven Vietnamese-American menu that blends her California upbringing, French culinary training, and Vietnamese heritage.
