Top Notch Hamburgers has operated at 7525 Burnet Rd. in Austin, Texas since 1971, when Ray and Frances Stanish purchased an existing drive-in and relaunched it as a charcoal-grill burger stand. The vintage diner, which appeared in Richard Linklater's 1993 cult film Dazed and Confused, claims to be the last charcoal grill in Austin and is known for hand-breaded onion rings and hand-spun milkshakes. The restaurant has won multiple awards including Best Fried Chicken in Texas and Best Burger in the City.
