Van Leeuwen Ice Cream
Van Leeuwen Ice Cream was founded in 2008 by brothers Ben and Pete Van Leeuwen and their Australian co-founder Laura O'Neill, who launched the business from a yellow repurposed postal truck in SoHo, New York, with a $60,000 investment. Ben developed the company's recipe philosophy after making vanilla ice cream from a Thomas Keller cookbook, emphasizing simple, high-quality ingredients. From those two original trucks, the brand has grown to over 100 scoop shops across 15 states and pints available at nearly 10,000 grocery stores nationwide.
