Bowlegged B.B.Q

Bowlegged BBQ was established in 2017 in the Mount Hope neighborhood of San Diego by siblings Carlos Stance, Ken 'Bowlegged' Stance, and Maria J. Reese, who built the restaurant around East Texas-style BBQ recipes passed down through generations. A Black-owned community hub, the restaurant is known for its slow-smoked meats, famous cornbread, and soulful sides that reflect the family's Southern heritage and dedication to hospitality. It serves as both a culinary destination and a cultural gathering place for San Diego's Black community.
