Smokin J's BBQ & Taphouse is the Gaslamp Quarter location of a family-owned San Diego BBQ group founded in 2016 by Jeremy and Josh — known as the 'Brisket Brothers' — who spent three years operating a pop-up before opening their first restaurant in Poway. The brand won Reader Magazine's Best BBQ in San Diego award in 2022 and expanded to the Gaslamp Quarter at 751 4th Ave., offering slow-smoked meats with an 18-tap local draft beer system.
