Brenda's Meat & Three opened in 2014 in San Francisco's NoPa neighborhood, founded by New Orleans-native chef Brenda Buenviajé as a companion to her acclaimed Brenda's French Soul Food restaurant. The restaurant introduced San Francisco to its first true Southern meat-and-three diner concept, with a rotating menu board of dishes such as BBQ ribs, fried catfish, and shrimp étouffée paired with up to 20 daily sides. It is known for its award-winning fried chicken, cream biscuits, and overstuffed po'boys rooted in Louisiana tradition.
