Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill was founded in 1992 by Ofer Shemtov and Eric Anders in Moorpark, California, renovated from a failed barbecue restaurant with a $5,000 budget. The chain uses a two-step cooking process, slow-roasting meats overnight in smokers before finishing them over a mesquite fire, and has grown to more than eighteen Southern California locations. Wood Ranch was rated Best BBQ in a Reader's Choice poll in 2021 and named among the Top 10 Kids Menus in America by Restaurant Hospitality.
